Treasured Verses for a Treasure Box

Hi friends! I stand in awe of Gods awesomeness (is that a word?!) in how He used yesterdays devotion to touch so many hearts. I received countless emails and blog posts, and so many of you are dealing with such painful and difficult situations right now, or you know of someone who is struggling to persevere through a very difficult time. I have lifted each one of you in prayer.

Since so many people requested more information about the verses that were in my little treasure box, I have listed those for you below. Feel free to copy and paste them and use them as you wish. Also, be sure to seek Gods guidance in discovering new verses for yourself that will help bring you strength to face your situation, or the person for whom you will be making the box for. You could use the concordance of your Bible, or look up keywords on http://www.biblegateway.com/, to research specific verses about any particular situation.

As you read these verses below, you will recognize that they are not exact quotes from Gods Word, but have been written in a conversational way that explains the promise found in the scriptural verse, rather than quoting the verse word for word.

You can do your verse slips this way, or type the verse exactly as it is written - whichever way you feel will help you feel closest to God. Each time you see a (xxx), that is where you should insert your name, or the name of the person whom you are making this treasure box for.

I pray you feel Gods hugs very soon!

Thank you so much for this! I want to make a box for my sister going through a divorce who is not close to God anymore AND for one of my students...a grandmother with seemingly endless struggles, the least of which is my class.

Thank you so much for sharing the verses with us! I loved the idea of the message box and was going to start collecting some of my own. I am not that well versed in the bible (though getting better) and have been challenged trying to locate verses. I love these verses and will use this as a personal bible study tool as I create a boxes. I plan on making one for my husband who is going through a stressful job search and many of my friends who are first time mothers.
Thank you again for this wonderful gift! God Bless.

Another great verse:
Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Thank you very much for this wonderful idea! I am also giving one to my sister who has just been given so much to bear. She lost a son (he was killed) the day after they left him at college on his 22nd birthday, her last child a daughter left home for her internship for college, her husband was going to retire, and her stress from her job. Plus I'm sure a few more she doesn't want to talk about. These are just the ones I know about. She ended up in the hospital with what they thought was a heart attack, but she was having anxiety-panic attacks (which are VERY scarey)!!
I read your blog yesterday and thought this was such a nice thing to give to her or anyone. I could hardly wait to check back today to get the list of bible verses. I too am not good at finding the right verses for the occasion, so I appreciate all the work you have done to put these out there for us. Have a blessed day, Pam

Thank you so much! I have been trying for sometime to imbed God's word in my heart and in the heart of the young girls I do bible study with. I think this will really lift us all up.

What a blessing you (and your friend) are. Thank you so much. We just sent our son off to college this year so finances are tight. I was thinking of a meaningful gift to give to my relatives and friends (most of whom are not yet saved). This is perfect.

Thank you for sharing these verses with us. I so desperately need to feel a hug from God right now, yet I am finding it so difficult to reach out to Him. I will try to write some of these verses with personalization in hopes that it will help me remember that He is near.

My heart goes out to Pam's sister. She, too has many trials to bear. I can't imagine the anguish of losing a son in such a horrible way.

I wish I could just count my blessings today instead of feeling this heartache.

Tracie and LeAnn...
Thanks Much....I have all of them copied and pasted. 2 of them are being used today....They are being carried around in my pocket. For some much needed encouragment and guidance for my day.

Pam....our prayers are with you and your sister. Anxeity is very scarey.

A prayer I came across for a person with anxiety; they recommand to say at any time you wish to turn over a problem to the care of God. Speak the prayer form your heart and repeat when ever needed.:

Dear God,
I have done all I know to heal this problem_______________
And have tried every resource within my knowledge and power.
I now turn this over to your care.
I acknowledge my own inability
To will this difficulty away,
As its source lies deeper than my own conscious will.
I know, however, it is not beyond Your Power,
And that nothing is impossible through God.

So I ask that You help me to heal this situation.
Bring light into this darkness
And restore peace to my mind and heart.
I am grateful that You already know the way, Even if I do not.
I now let go in trust and faith_____________
Knowing that it is through your perfect love and grace
That I may be restored to wholeness. Amen.

Also here are some antianxiety Affirmations she should tell herself as often as needed.
....I am learning to let go of worry.
....Each day I'm growing in my capacity to master worry and anxiety.
....I am learning not to feed my worries-to choose peace over fear.
....I am learning to consiously choose what I think, and I choose thoughts that are supportive and beneficial for me.
....When anxious thoughts come up, I can slow down, breathe, and let them go.
....More and more, I'm growing in confidence, knowing that I can handle any situation that comes up.

Sweet Blessings everyone. Lets keep encouraging:)

Rhonda

You have no idea what your blog yesterday and today have done for me. I prayed for God to send me some encouragement and I got it. Thank you so much. I am making a treasure box for myself and a couple of friends. I have such a hard time of "letting go" of my problems and worries - just letting God have them. I hope this helps me with my trust and faith.

Me & my family need help...I try to see the Lords will in all I do & I seek over & over & all that happens is the enemy attacks us so bad that my husband wants to leave & my kids no longer want God cause they believe if God was real we wouldn't be going through all this financial problems & mariiage issues!! I'm so disgusted by the enemy I want to give up!

I love Jesus so much why can't I have 1 day without fighting!! Please pray for Mike Donna & my twin girls Casey @ Courtney...

Thank you so much! This is such a wonderful idea.

I have just printed these off and am planning on putting them in a beautiful box and giving this to someone who is hurting very much right now. I pray that she will find comfort in these verses.

Thank you again Tracie! Praise God... Casey called me tonight & asked for my forgiveness! She is staying at a counselors home & the woman said to her that children are supposed to respect their parents & that it says it in the Bible to do so...she called me & said "Mommy I went to go to heaven & I've been treating you like garbage you don't deserve it, please forgive me" Well that's enough to weep at the foot of the cross for!! The Lord is working miracles one at a time...sure I may be going through a testing period but as long as I'm being obedient I know the Father is answering me day by day... God bless you & all who read & post to this blog...

Love Donna
